Missions Update January 2016
Our Trip Is Going Great
Dear Friends and Family,
We pray everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years in Zacatecas. There are many thing we are going to fill you in on. Much has happened in the short time we have been in Mexico. God has been so good to us! We have been able to pass out hundreds of tracks and even talk to some people that spoke English.
Christmas was a lot of fun. We had a traditional Mexican Christmas meal that involved lots of Tamales! On New Years there was an amazing firework display on the top of the famous mountain called La Bufa. It is visible from my parents house.
The people here have been so kindto us especially the folks from the Church. Everyone wants to shake our hand and do their best to try to communicate with us, it is such a blessing!
We are praising the Lord for the safety He has given us since we have been here. We do not have any scary stories to tell other that the size of the spiders here!
Plans While We Are Here
We have many plans the next few months. We already have started to figure what it is going to coast us to rent a home and set it up with furnishings. To move here permanentlyit will coast us about $2,000. This includes a house and all the necessities we will need to get started such as a stove, fridge, bed, and couch.
This next month we will be helping start a new church plant! We are very excited about this. We have already started painting and getting things ready. I believe our first service will be on January 21st Thursday. Please pray God will bless this new Church plant.
Since we have been here we have been able to pass out hundreds of tracks and invite many people to church. I was given the opportunity to preach in a service. Brother Bryan the veteran Missionary here translated for me. It was fun preaching through a translator , however, I cannot wait for that day I will no longer need a translator to preach. We will be starting some language training this month. It is amazing how much Spanish we have picked up in the short time we have been here. Of course it is not a large amount, but, we have been able to go out by ourselves without getting lost or in trouble. That is a big step. Please pray we can learn the language quickly so that we may be more effective in reaching lost souls for Christ in Mexico. We pray all is going well for you back home and we can not thank you enough forall your prayers. We know many prayers have gone up for us and still do daily. May God Bless you all.
Unto the Furtherance of the Gospel,
Trent and Stephanie Granger
